Cod Wars
Dispute between Iceland and the UK
The Cod Wars (Icelandic: ĂorskastrĂðin; also known as LandhelgisstrĂðin, lit.â'The Coastal Wars'; German: Kabeljaukriege) were a series of 20th-century confrontations between Iceland and the United Kingdom (with aid from West Germany) about fishing rights in the North Atlantic around Iceland. Each of the disputes ended with an Icelandic victory.
