The Police of Russia (Russian: ΠΠΎΠ»ΠΈΡΠΈΡ Π ΠΎΡΡΠΈΠΈ, romanized: Politsiya Rossii) is the national law enforcement agency of Russia, operating under the Ministry of Internal Affairs from September 8, [O.S. 20] 1802. It was established on June 7, [O.S. 18] 1718 by decree of Peter the Great, and in 2011, it replaced the Militsiya, the former police service.
