Robert Osbourne Denver (January 9, 1935 โ September 2, 2005) was an American comedic actor who portrayed beatnik Maynard G. Krebs on the 1959โ1963 series The Many Loves of Dobie Gillis and Gilligan on the 1964โ1967 television series Gilligan's Island.
