Prince Rogers Nelson (June 7, 1958 โ April 21, 2016), known simply as Prince, was an American singer, musician, songwriter, and actor. Prince is often credited as an influence on modern popular music and one of the greatest musicians of his era, pioneering the Minneapolis sound and being instrumental to the evolution of various other genres.
