Much of Africa (not all) got it's hate of homosexuality from Chridtisn Missionaries, not necessarily British ones though. One of the worst countries these days is Uganda and yet if you look up the Baganda en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Buganda they had very different viewpoints pre colon...
