this shit used to be all over the internet. you couldn't go online without hearing about someone's grundo getting zapped with the lab ray. you couldn't talk about MMA fighting without somebody bringing up their battledome stats. you'd go to the mall - remember the mall? and you'd pass by claire's - remember claire's? - and my god, what's that on the shelf? a doglefox plushie? they were so big they didn't even need to stock plushes of the neopets themselves, just the petpets. nowadays i don't know what's going on with the site but it's definitely not where it was at a few decades back. if corporate figureheads could feel emotions, they might be ashamed of how they let this one go

There are no more barriers to cross. All I have in common with the uncontrollable and the insane, the vicious and the evil, all the mayhem I have caused and my utter indifference toward it, I have now surpassed. My pain is constant and sharp, and I do not hope for a better world for anyone. In fact, I want my pain to be inflicted on others. I want no one to escape. But even after admitting this, there is no catharsis; my punishment continues to elude me, and I gain no deeper knowledge of myself. No new knowledge can be extracted from my telling. This confession has meant nothing.
